Foreword

Professor Siniša (Josip) Opić is a full-time, Ph.D professor born in 1973 in Pakrac, Croatia. He is a member of the Croatian Academy of Educational Sciences and heads the Department for Pedagogy, Andragogy, Didactics, and Educational Sciences.
Apart from his primary faculty, Prof. Opić has lectured or is currently lecturing in quantitative research methodology at several universities, including the Faculty of Science (University of Zagreb), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (University of Zagreb), Faculty of Philosophy (University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek), Police Academy, University of Mostar, University of Slavonski Brod, North University, and didactics at Academy of Fine Arts (University of Zagreb), Music Academy (University of Zagreb), and the Academy of Dramatic Arts (University of Zagreb).
He is involved in teaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies. Furthermore, he also serves as a lecturer in quantitative methodology at doctoral studies at several institutions, including the Faculty of Teacher Education (University of Zagreb), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (University of Zagreb), Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, Nord University and University of Maribor (SLO).
Prof. Opić has had guest lecturer/researcher/visiting scholar roles at several international institutions, including Brock University (Canada), the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana and Maribor (Slovenia), Macquarie University (Australia), University of St. Gallen (Switzerland), University of Freiburg (Germany), University of Murcia (Spain), University of Graz (Austria), Bar-Ilan University (Israel), University of Houston (Texas, USA), Rotterdam University (Netherlands), Indiana State University (USA), and Sydney University (Australia), among others.
His primary areas of scientific interest include quantitative research methodology and social science methodology. He has supervised approximately one hundred students in their final, graduate, and doctoral theses. Prof. Opić is involved in reviewing and serving on the editorial board of various foreign and domestic scientific journals. He has also been a reviewer for numerous scientific international conferences, textbooks, and University Development Fund projects.

From October 1, 2024 to October 1, 2025 is a visiting scholar (scientist) at the University of Sydney.
